Katie and Ross will be celebrating their first anniversary this month (congratulations, you guys!) and I’m, well, finally blogging their Brazos Hall wedding. What a joy it’s been this morning to revisit their wedding day! I could not have loved these two or their wedding party more.
Katie stepped into her wedding dress on the second floor of Brazos Hall in pretty natural light with the help of her mom and sister. When she was finished, she wanted to do a reveal to her bridal and house parties. All of the girls lined up and anxiously waited for Katie to walk around the corner. When they saw her, there were tears, screams, laughter, and so, so much emotion. As a photographer, I can’t ask for more than that — their excitement for one of their best friends was so amazing and genuine.
And really, it goes without explanation how much fun Ross’ groomsmen were. Just scroll down and take a peek at how they screamed and yelled with Katie and Ross after their ceremony, how much fun they had during our portraits (which happened to have to be indoors because of the January rain and was a little different for me as I typically work with mostly natural light…but pushed me and was so much fun to photograph), and oh my goodness — the reception. The dancing and the garter toss were absolutely phenomenal.
One of the last songs played for the night was “Welcome to New York” by Taylor Swift. I admit it was my first time to hear the song, but I loved the way it tied their upcoming move to New York from Austin into their wedding day. I haven’t been able to listen to the song without thinking of these two (and believe me, I’ve listened to my fair share of T-Swift in the last 12 months…).
