Elisa and Jason are two of the most humble, sweetest people I’ve ever met. Their wedding day was nothing short of spectacular. I was quite pregnant while photographing this amazing day and everyone — guests, the bride and groom, the coordinator — made sure I was well-taken care of. I didn’t think twice about my tired feet because I was just so happy to be there, witnessing the amazing celebration.
I got off-schedule with sharing weddings, and I always love to pop in and say hello to my brides and grooms. I touched base with Elisa for a little catch-up and she was so kind to answer a few questions for me.
Post-Wedding Q&A With Elisa:
Your favorite wedding moment was…
Seeing Jason smiling at me walking down the aisle!
What’s your best advice to engaged couples?
Embrace every moment of your engagement, as it is a very special short time in your life. The only time you’ll be a fiancé. Our engagement was only 6 months and it flew by so fast. Enjoy the wedding process and planning. It may seem hectic at times, but even then, you’ll look back and smile. ALL the planning, anticipation, and organizing is literally priceless for ALL the beautiful memories of your special wedding day.
What is your favorite wedding photograph I captured and why is it so special to you?
I have lots of favorite photos…hard to choose! From the wedding ceremony: my dad unveiling me-very artistic shot, picture of Jason before wedding reading my card to him-most handsome picture of him!, our first kiss as husband and wife-candid perfect shot in black and white. Reception: Group photo of everyone cheering-so fun!, picture of us in front of the old car-classic photo, our send off pictures-so candid and fun!
What current wedding trends are you loving? (Are you still as obsessed with keeping up with the trends now that you’re married?)
Sheer is in. The back of my dress is what sold me on it…sheer with lace overlay. I haven’t kept up on the latest.
Where have you displayed your favorite wedding photograph?
We have each of our favorites all over our new house!
What’s one thing you wish you had done differently the day of your wedding?
Have the ceremony closer to the reception venue. I loved the church we got married in and the reception venue, just wished they were closer in distance and less traffic!
What are three things that have changed in the last year+ for you and Jason that you’d like to share?
– We purchased our first beach house together.
– We celebrate our wedding date (25th) of every month (especially our first year)!
– Focusing on expanding our family!
Elisa and Jason, it was so good to catch up with you guys! I can’t wait to hear about your future littles and hopefully see you again. Enjoy nesting in your new home and thank you for allowing me to capture all these special moments for you. xoxo
