I’m a few days late wishing everyone a Happy New Year, but I hope your 2013 is off to a fantastic start. After a lovely break with my husband, Dustyn, things are back in full swing here at Urban Grey. I am not one for making lots of New Years resolutions (because I tend to go overboard and make a resolution for everything in my life that needs to be improved), but this year I want to challenge myself more.
I want to be fearless when it comes to taking photos.
To try things that aren’t the norm — whether that be how I process my photos, pose clients during a session, or write a blog post.
I want to be free to explore and create and do so without holding back because someone might think what I’m doing is odd or unordinary.
Another goal is to take a photograph a day, whether that be with my iPhone or my 5D Mark III. So much of running a photography business is sitting at the computer working on taxes, emails, editing, working on albums, etc. What I love doing is taking photographs. I’m planning to take small breaks to walk around outside or walk around Austin to discover new locations.
2013 is the year I plan to take photographs with no hesitations. The year I challenge myself and explore more than ever. So far it’s off to a pretty amazing start!
Happy New Year!
*Full disclosure: the image above is from Rebecca and Taylor’s day-after session at the end of December so it’s not technically one of my 2013 images, but ya know, I’m pretty in love with this image (and this couple — if you couldn’t tell by how I gushed over them in their wedding post.)
