One afternoon last summer, I had an email pop up in my inbox. It said something like, “Hi! I’ve been referred your way by my friend Jessica. You just photographed her engagements and we are looking to book a wedding photographer for our December wedding.” This email began the process of meeting with Paige and her mom, Vicki, and becoming Paige and Matt’s wedding photographer. You might remember Jessica’s wedding. She and Paige were bridesmaids in each others weddings. It was such a touching experience to be able to see two friends take part in each others weddings. I cannot thank Jessica enough for spreading the word about Urban Grey and having faith in me to not only do a great job at her wedding, but also one of her best friend’s.
I didn’t meet Matt until their engagement session because until right before then, he’d been living out-of-state. I knew from the first five minutes of seeing these two together how perfect they are for each other. I’d never seen Paige look happier, laugh more, or relax as much as when she was in his presence. Their engagement session went down as one of my favorite to shoot last year because they were just so incredible to work with.
Going into their wedding day, I was anxious. You see, we’d had an atrocious week of rainy, dreary days before their wedding. Paige and I kept constantly refreshing the weather reports to see what to expect for their wedding day. The reports stated a chance of rain. Thirty percent was the last report, but the week of, their guesses varied from ten to sixty percent. I told Paige that no matter how cold (did I mention it was finally beginning to act like winter before their wedding and it was also freezing!?) it got, if it was a perfect day without rain, I was theirs to go outside for beautiful pictures.
Thankfully, the rain stayed away – it had pretty much completely stopped by the time I arrived at the Church at Canyon Creek. Their wedding went flawlessly. Per my new norm, I have had a terrible job narrowing down the photos to blog. So, for your viewing pleasure, I’m treating you to two full posts of Matt and Paige’s wedding.
Enjoy! Leave them your congratulations below, and remember to come back tomorrow for Part Two!

And this, my friends, is where I leave you until tomorrow. Stay tuned for their wedding reception at the Vista on Seward Hill, which included much dancing, fun, and some gorgeous sunset portraits outside.
