After a long Texas drought this summer, it was no wonder that on the day of Whitney and John Michael’s engagement session I looked questioningly at the sky – was it going to rain? Whitney’s mom and I talked about back-up plans because there was just no telling if it would actually pour down. We had been teased so much with dark blue skies over the last couple of months and not a drop fell. I headed to Caldwell anyway, knowing that even if our session did get canceled, I would still be able to hang out with my parents since they live in the same town.
The sky was nice and overcast for most of our session, but at the end, we had to load up and put away all the camera gear. The rain didn’t last long – in fact, we went out to take a few more pictures after it had passed. These two – Whitney and John Michael – they were troopers through it all. Always happy to be close to one another, willingly smiled at each other without having to be prompted, and so sweet to one another.
Whitney and John Michael will be getting married this coming March! I’m so excited to photograph Whitney’s bridals. Her dress looks ah-mazing.
In the left photo below, Whitney and John Michael are standing on the road that will soon lead to the house they’ll live in together.
