Anne and Ashton were married at Double Creek Crossing in Caldwell, TX. I had never photographed a wedding there before, but from what I’d heard from Anne and her sisters, the venue was beautiful. It certainly didn’t disappoint. Despite the heat, the entire day was perfect. I wish I could have the glorious evening light we had that day every. single. day. From their first look to the family pictures all the way through the ceremony, the light was just stunning.
I’ve known Anne since she was about five years old. I have been best friends with her sister (who happens to also be my sister-in-law) Leslie for as long as I can remember. I also fondly remember bickering with Anne before we realized how much we also had in common. I grew up being a part of the O’Toole Family. Many a night were spent at their house. Before Anne met Ashton, we had countless talks about boys. When she met Ashton, it was clear that there was something different about him. Something absolutely perfect for Anne.
Their courtship included a deployment for Ashton, during which time they talked when they could, wrote, and Anne mailed him some of the most clever gifts one could imagine. Her family and friends counted down the months and days as she waited for him to get back to the US. We all squealed with joy when Ashton proposed. I was thrilled when she talked to me about how they didn’t want to have an extremely long engagement…and honored that they asked me to be their photographer.
Anne is practically family. It was like trying to pick my favorite sibling when I had to narrow down the pictures for the blog. I’ve chosen quite a few to share with you.
