I met Jackie a few months ago when she and I sat down to discuss her upcoming June wedding. She and David will be getting married at the Duchman Winery. When we initially began talking about their engagements, we were going to do something with a very natural setting. The week of their scheduled session, I emailed Jackie to double check locations and she said they were thinking of doing something industrial instead.
Immediately I thought of the Austin Power Plant, but knew that it was probably off limits. I’ve only known of a handful of sessions done there and had no idea who to contact. I consulted with my friend Amber and she agreed the Power Plant would be the best place. We went to scout it out together, and that day there was a whole crew of workers tearing down after a SXSW performance.
Many calls and lots of masterminding later, we had rescheduled Jackie and David’s engagement session for a day that worked well with the coordinator’s schedule.
Jackie + David, THANK YOU for pushing me to seek and prod to be able to shoot here. Thank you for not settling for a session that you would have just been okay with doing. Thank you for your flexibility and venturing into the Power Plant with open minds with me.
