Oh, it is with great joy that I bring Will and Jessica to the blog. Jessica contacted me a few months ago about photographing her August wedding. I had a wonderful meeting with she and her Mom. We talked and chatted.. and time easily slipped away as we also began to discuss Jessica’s photography interests. Aside from photography, there were so many things I instantaneously loved about Jessica. She was fun, funny, personable, and happy. Her excitement about Will was all but seeping out of her. We realized we are both members of the same awesome church… The Austin Stone. She has a great passion for kids and loves working with the KidStuff Program. I didn’t meet Will at the initial consultation. Jessica filled me in on most of the details. One thing I’m still anxious to learn more about is his music. He’s a phenomenal musician…or so I hear. I’ll have to report back to you guys after I go to a show!
Jessica described her engagement session ideas to me as fun, playful, all about their relationship, and doing things together that they loved. (Absolute perfection to me…) We began our morning session at Dominican Joe. The place where their story begins. Jessica met Will there, officially, that night. But you see, he already had a little crush on her. And Jessica knew it. But Will didn’t know Jessica knew it. And some of her friends didn’t know Jessica knew it. Said friends kept pushing Jessica and Will to get to know each other better. Well, naturally, as you’ll see below – they hit it off.
Since the beginning of their relationship, games have been a huge part of their lives. I am a fellow game-lover. They introduced me to a new game called Dutch Blitz while we were on the lovely streets of South Congress where they stopped to play for a while. And our session ended with a little bit of Monopoly in a secluded field-y area.
Jessica + Will, it is an honor to be photographing your wedding. I cannot wait for August to be here. Thank you for an incredible session… and all the fun times ahead. You know, for when you teach me how to play Dutch Blitz.

Really, it’s just not fair… so much beauty in one incredible lady…

Jessica and Will get a little fierce while playing Dutch Blitz.

I’ve always been a huge fan of this particular mural along South Congress, but had never photographed anyone there. And man, do I love it!

Then it was time for a little change of pace. We switched gears, locations, and they changed outfits.

I am a huge fan of how their personalities emanate out of these photographs. There’s laughter…

and sweet, romantic love.
